Design of this hospital began with a simple concept which encompasses all aspects of design, ‘coexistence of building and nature in balanced harmony.’ This meant designing a functionally efficient hospital satisfying the program requirements, yet placing the structure in perfect harmony with nature. An atrium separates the central D&T and outpatient facilities, giving autonomy to different functions but close enough for efficiency. The inpatient care unit tower stands tall, rising from the base, gaining a symbolic quality. The building design, inspired by earth, sky and water, completes the scenery where the hospital seamlessly integrates with the surrounding nature.
