Inside Out & Outside In.
Jinju’s traditional architectural legacy is full of buildings designed to blend in with the natural surroundings creating a sense of harmony between the built environment and nature. Our proposal for the the new Jinju National Museum embraces this legacy and proposes a project that establishes a interweaved relationship between The Museum and The Site in order to create a fluid, friendly and integrated experience for all visitors. In effect, we are turning the project ‘Inside Out & Outside In’. Our proposal, nature becomes the building and the building becomes nature.
The new Jinju National Museum connects to the larger Jinju Culture Park Master Plan, which includes a restored rail station connected to the new modern Science Museum situated at the northern end of the complex. The total site area is 20,000 square meters. The project attempts to actively assist visitors in reconsidering their relationship to nature, to the built environment and to each other by generating a meaningful and engaging museum experience.
